About All Things Japan

The trust layer between Japanesemakers and global markets.

All Things Japan is a curated export-readiness platform — not a listings marketplace. Every product comes from an individual, Japan-based maker, is reviewed by ATJ before it goes live, and ships from Japan.

Why ATJ exists

Why ATJ exists

Global demand for Japanese products keeps rising. But quality alone no longer travels — buyers now expect verified origin, accurate product information, and reliable shipping from day one.

And the traditional export paths still force bad trade-offs:

01

Margins that crush

Wholesale terms that make sustainable craft production impossible.

02

Stories that vanish

Marketplaces that strip away provenance, name, and meaning.

03

Barriers that block

Language, compliance, and cross-border complexity that stop makers before they start.

How ATJ works

How ATJ works

Makers apply

A guided application, completed in Japanese. Nothing is published automatically — every maker is reviewed by ATJ first.

Products and readiness are reviewed

Origin, brand, and shipping conditions are confirmed before anything is presented. If it isn't genuinely made in Japan, it doesn't belong here.

ATJ prepares the listing

English product information and the sales page, built by ATJ and published only with the maker's approval.

Small orders test real demand

Global buyers purchase directly from Japan — real products from named makers — while early market response is read before scaling.

Proven products move toward B2B

Sustained demand opens business-buyer conversations and the potential for repeat trade.

D2C is the entrance that reads the market. B2B is the growth stage for products with proven readiness and demand.

Our principles

Our principles

What ATJ protects Protect

  • Trust in origin
  • The maker's brand value
  • Accuracy of product information
  • Long-term relationships with buyers

Nothing is discounted or repositioned without the maker's consent.

What ATJ never does Never

  • Relabel products through third countries
  • Discount without the maker's consent
  • Sell with ambiguous origin or story
  • Publish unverified products to buyers
  • Trade brand value for short-term sales

ATJ is not a discount marketplace. It is export-readiness infrastructure for brands made in Japan.

We don't aim to be the biggest marketplace.
We aim to be the most trusted export gateway for Japan.

For global buyers

Before anything is published, ATJ confirms the product's origin, the maker's background, shipping conditions, and product information. Every listing is prepared for overseas buyers and goes live only with the maker's approval.

Retailers, restaurants, hotels, corporate gifting, regional trading firms, and importers can start with a small order or a conversation, and test the potential for ongoing trade from there.
